Venom, there is no way that you can leave out Red. Insert him at number two and throw out Riley to sixth and it would be fine. My top 5 goes something like this.

1. John Wooden- no way you can argue it
2. Adolph Rupp- go kentucky
3. Red Auerbach- This guy got the most out of his guys, he was a coach in every sense of the word
4. Pat Summit- gotta show some love to the UT girls coach, what an amazing job she should be in everyone's top 5
5. Phil Jackson- maybe not the 5th best coach, but when he had star players all he did was win championships

Henry Iba anyone?

Career wins 767!

Check out his coaching tree here, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Iba, not for sure how some of these guys are related, but found it interesting!

To be quite honest, I'd never heard of Henry Iba until I read this.

Thanks and his credentials are impressive.

Bobby Knight holding the three spot above Phil Jackson is dispicable!  I thought this was suppose to be the Greatest coaches?  All Bobby Knight will be remembered by is his inmature, cry-baby, let me push a kid on the floor and throw a chair at a ref antics.  Hey i have no problem with cussing out a ref on a horrible call, but come on it goes to a certain extent.  Above all Lenny Wilkens , NBAs all time winningest coach, should be honored in the third spot with Phil Jackson behind him.  Come on dude get some knowledge befor posting something like this!

Excuse me, frankie, but Bobby Knight will be remembered for being the winningest coach in Div-1 Men's Basketball History.

When people think of Bobby Knight they may, as you brought up, be reminded of his bouts with anger. I know I will. But I'll also remember a span from '74-'76 were he led his Hoosiers to a record of 63-1 (With the one loss being to Kentucky). People forget that the man won 3 National Championships. Most importantly with 3 different sets of players. Something Jackson or Wilkens never had to do.

You can't, by any means, justify Wilkens being above either Jackson or Knight. He won a grand total of 1 championship in 33 years. Knight won 3 in 45 years. And Jackson, impressively, has won 9 in 17 years.

But the biggest factor playing into Wilkens low ranking is the fact that he is not only the winningest coach in NBA history, but also holds the record for most losses in a coaching career.

Jim Calhoun in the #10 spot, gotta love a guy who turns down an opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a Yankees game being a life-long Red Sox fan!

About (Insert Name Here)
I'm here to address the issues. There's children on the street using guns and knives. Taking drugs and each other's lives. Killing each other with knives and forks. Calling each other names like 'dork'. There's people on the street getting diseases from monkeys. Yeah, that's what I said - they're getting diseases from monkeys. Now there's junkies with monkey disease. Who's touching these monkeys, please leave these poor sick monkeys alone they've got problems enough as it is.
